Paris 5

Paris, September 22nd

semi-overcast 20 °C

Today we went back to Notre Dame. We managed to get in just before the tours, which was really lucky. Notre Dame has many complicated stained glass which was very similar to Sainte-Chapelle. My dad and I lit candles for my grandparents. When we got out of the Notre Dame the line had literally quintupled!

We went to the George Pompidou Centre which was a modern building with very modern art. All of the artwork was really contemporary and difficult to understand. The art was not just paintings and drawings, there was also videos and music. But at the top of the building we had a great view of Paris.

After we went to the George Pompidou centre, we caught up with my friend Nat and her family. We found her at the coffee near their hotel. I was very excited that I got to meet my friend in Paris. Nat gave me two bracelets that she bought in Greece. They have “eyes” on them, which is for good luck.
My Mum and Dad went to a wine tasting session and I went to the Louvre with Nat. It was good to go to the Louvre for the second time because I got to go to parts that I did not visit the first time. After the Louvre we went to a coffee shop and had some afternoon tea.

Then we took them to the Arc de Triomphe. We went to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. We could see the beautiful city at night and we were lucky to catch the Eiffel Tower’s light show from a fantastic spot.
