London 6

London, September 30th

semi-overcast 21 °C

First my dad and I got up early and walked past Buckingham Palace. We went to Geo. F. Trumper’s for him to get a haircut and shave. It was very fancy they used a cut-throat razor and they even made me a lovely cup of tea.

Then we went to a Latin mass at Westminster Cathedral. It was very different from your normal English mass. After mass we lit candles for my grandparents.

After mass the whole family got up and went to Harrods. We scanned through all the levels and bought some food so we could have a picnic in Hyde Park. Harrods was really big and had 6 levels.

We had a delightful picnic at Hyde Park. The park is very big, lively and green. It has a big lake in the middle called The Serpentine. I had a close experience with a friendly squirrel just a few centimetres away. As were walking out we noticed there were deck chairs for hire for people who wanted to sit in the park, for £2 an hour!

We walked through Hyde Park to Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Then we continued down the road to Regents Street and went to Hamleys toy shop again. I had a lot of fun and a got a huge magic bubble! My brother got a beautiful wand from the Harry Potter counter.
